Coping with Marital Violence: Whither Women in Ile-Ife?

Coping with of marital violence could involve but not limited to sharing their experience friends rather than family members or relatives. However, previous researches conducted viewed this from a quantitative perspective research aims at using qualitative approach. This aimed narrating the copingstrategies women survivors in own voice. To locate appropriate participants, purposive sampling method which is non- probability was employed choosing 2 communities Ife municipality. The sample size comprised 12 participants within age 15-49 years.In-depth interview and case study adopted as instruments for primary data collection because it exploratory, descriptive, detailed complete. Findings revealed that order stay alive survive also known intimate partner violence, they had share ordeal colleagues, religious leaders, keeping themselves, avoiding perpetuator, drinking alcohol, indiscriminate use drugs smoking.In conclusion, observed different people similar things differently credits women's abilityto create novel strategies coping acknowledges efforts seeking help support formal informal sources.
